Simon Williamson will visit Bucknell on Friday, February 28 to give a lecture on his experiences as an industrial designer, and a workshop on computer-aided design. Williamson is an Associate Professor at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, where he teaches courses on industrial design, product design, digital art, and computer aided manufacturing. Before teaching full time, his range, professionally, included the design and manufacture of his own line of desktop, consumer goods; product development of toy concepts through to the prototype phase, (including major action-figure brands as GI Joe and Star Wars); as well as toy inventions.Williamson’s lecture will be held in the Gallery Theater (on the top floor of the LC) at 1:00pm.
